SARAH WEST
ASSORTED WORKS
Oil and Graphite Renderings
Since her childhood, Sarah West has expressed herself through her artistic creativity. She is a visual artist and designer specializing in realism involving all mediums and subject matter.

As a student of The Lucas School of Fine Art, she completed formal classes and advanced to independent studies under the instruction of Mark Lucas. Sarah began her career as a staff artist at Lucas Studios.

In 2006 Sarah was a founding member of Peachtree Studios on Broadway in Columbus, Ga. After two years of sharing experience in an atmosphere of “Soho” with other artist, Sarah branched out and opened The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art in Smiths Station, Alabama.

Sarah is a commissioned artist and instructor of all mediums and styles but prefers oil and graphite in photo realism and slight impressionism. Sarah is known for her portrait work and historical landmarks. Sarah’s works are in many private collections and also exhibited at The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art. Along with her passion in her works of art, Sarah has contributed much of her time and artistry to the theatrical arts, is a continuing participant in charity events such as the Upatoi Polo Cup, has been a guest artist in area schools and is continuing her work as an artistic mentor for the youth while expressing the motto in which she uses daily, “Art is Life Expressed.”

Sarah's latest series of work is entitled "Masquerade"

This series was inspired by Sarah's deep love for travel, history and theatre. Within the series Sarah explored a technique of watermarks and canvas staining which she acquired through the study of the late Virgina Cole Veal's work. The series became a labor of love in which Sarah combined newly mastered skills, her already crisp detail of photo realism with a love of all things traditional and theatrical. This series was unveiled at The Springer Opera House's No Shame Theatre on October 30th, 2009.
